FEET Conference in Prague will be Video Conference
I am very sorry to announce now that the FEET conference cannot take place as a present or physical conference in Prague this August due to the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
This is a very recent decision. After intensive discussions, the FEET executive committee has taken this decision in a ZOOM meeting. We feel the uncertainty regarding the permission to travel in Europe, the hygiene and distance regulations in the Olsanka Hotel in Prague (e.g. face masks), the still existing risk of infection, the fact that participants hesitate to register for the conference and the cancellation of at least one speaker.
Our plan is a video conference (e.g. ZOOM) on the same subject (“Discerning the Work of the Holy Spirit in and Through the Church”) and at the same time (end of August), but with a reduced programme, only the main papers, but no workshops and no discipline groups or other meetings.
Friday, Aug 28, 2020
- Start in the afternoon with two papers
- FEET General Assembly in the evening
Saturday, Aug 29, 2020
- Two papers in the morning
- Perhaps a paper in the afternoon
For personnel and financial reasons against the background of the coronavirus crisis, we do not see a chance for a conference with physical presence in Prague this summer.
The reason for this strong reduction of the programme is due to the fact that people normally do not have as much attention at a video conference as at a real conference.
We pray for health and protection in this challenging times and hopefully we will meet on video at the end of August and in a real FEET conference in 2022.
